Know About Major Requirements For Canada PNP Skilled Workers

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) came up with a complete overhauled immigration programme in the winter of 2015, and then onwards there has been a rapid transformation going around in the immigration landscape in the nation.

The “Expression of Interest” or also known as “Express Entry” envisaged a new bridge for the immigrants to make it to the country. The programme enabled skilled and vibrant workers, business person and person with Canadian work experience to thrive in the overseas hotspot.

But there are some aspects that have completely made this immigration rigid. The Skilled Occupation List (SOL) doesn’t consider every profession making it tough for the immigrants to use the programme in the best of their interest. At the same time, even for those who have skills and expertise, they are failing somewhere or the other in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) even as this makes the movement extremely challenging.

But to no surprise, the Provincial Nominee Programme (PNP) is there to help the immigrants to leave an imprint on the minds of the IRCC. The PNP programme has separate methodology of evaluation and many of the immigrants who have failed drastically under the “Express Entry” programme have got a backdoor entry to the Maple Leaf Country through the PNP.

Let’s first explain the readers and the applicants about the PNP for Canada for skilled workers first and then we will look into the interior aspect of this programme!

What is PNP Programme?
Irrespective of the rules and regulations set by the IRCC, most of the provinces in Canada have the leverage to release their own PNP and invite foreign immigrants to enter, work and gain Permanent Residency (PR) through their nomination and sponsorship.

The PNP programme is entirely autonomous in nature, and there is no domination at the hands of IRCC to tamper its freedom. The PNP allows the provinces in the nation to hire workers for the sector where they are lagging behind. The requirement of each province is different, so the programme may vary from province to province. As an immigrant, you must understand the requirements of every province and accordingly apply under the PNP programme for Canada.

How to determine the eligibility for PNP programme to Canada
It is not mandatory that the PNP programme should remain uniform across every province and the requirements change with the tick of the clock. The requirements of the program may change with the nature of the application. If you are applying for the paper based method, the scenario would be different for skilled workers as compared to the one filed through “Express Entry” programme. At the same time, it is imperative that you have been nominated by the province to streamline the immigration.

Provincial Nominee Program to Canada for Skilled Workers
If you are skilled in certain profession that has not been recognized under the “Express Entry” “National Occupation List”, there is always the possibility where you can use the PNP to help materialize the movement.
The province has the sole rights to choose the right skilled workers who can help the province meet with their specific economic needs. You can easily find all the updates about the PNP programme on the government website and figure-out the job that are in demand and apply accordingly.

Basically, the PNP has an assorted range of schemes and diversification based on which the immigration is streamlined, but the major part of the movement is done through five major categories:
  • Skilled workers,
  • Semi-skilled workers,
  • Business/investors,
  • International student graduates, and
  • Family or community connections.
